Privacy

Palliser takes its obligations to safeguard personal information very seriously. Your trust is important to us and therefore we have created a Privacy Policy Statement that guides our practices concerning the collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal information of our customers, distributors and suppliers.

What is personal information?

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual. This includes information such as a person’s name, address, home phone number, email address, postal/zip code and similar such information. Palliser may collect non-personal information in the course of using the Palliser Site.  Non-personal information does not identify you as an individual. For example, Palliser may ask you for your postal code to assist in planning what areas to distribute a sales flyer. Palliser also collects certain information from users of the Palliser Site through electronic cookies; this may include the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer and your Internet Service Provider, the date and time you visited the website, and the website pages you read and any content you downloaded from the website.  Palliser does not link non-personal information to any other personal information collected in the normal course of its business.

Non-personal information is used by the Palliser website and system administrators to improve the Palliser Site and to provide you with the best possible service.

Do I have to give Palliser my personal information?

In order for Palliser to provide its products and services to you, the provision of certain personal information will be required.  Personal information would need to be provided to order Palliser products, to facilitate payments and deliveries, and allow for the administration of any customer account, for example.  Palliser may directly or through a trusted third party under contract to carry out certain services, use any information you provide for administration and operational purposes, including managing emails, initiating product warranties, tracking visitor’s use of site, after-the-sales service follow up and other operational purposes that are essential for Palliser to provide products and/or services you request from Palliser.

Your personal information will also be used by Palliser or on its behalf for secondary marketing purposes, such as providing updates on Palliser products, after-sales and asking for your feedback through surveys and questionnaires. Sharing your personal information with Palliser for these secondary purposes is entirely your choice. If, at any time, you do not want your personal information used for these secondary purposes, you may submit an electronic request to be removed from our mailing lists by clicking unsubscribe in the footer of the Palliser Site.

If personal information is forwarded to third parties, it is done with your knowledge or consent or in compliance with our obligations at law.

How does Palliser receive, store and retain my personal information?

All personal information provided to Palliser in written form is secured in locked facilities with access limited to those who require it to complete their duties. If you are transmitting information to us electronically, Palliser has in place electronic safeguards and systems to reasonably protect personal information from unauthorized access, collection, use or disclosure.

How long does Palliser keep my personal information?

Palliser keeps your personal information for as long as it is necessary for Palliser to provide you with Palliser products and services requested, to allow you to reasonably access such information, and to maintain proper administrative records in line with our then-current business practices and legal requirements, in accordance with applicable laws.  Please note that any personal information that is not accessed within a one (1) year period will be archived within the Palliser system in accordance with Palliser’s information retention practices.  Personal information about a customer that is no longer required by Palliser to fulfill such purposes is shredded and disposed of in a manner that safeguards its confidentiality.
